The Second City has a 50 year legacy of innovating with audiences every night as the world's most famous improvisational theatre. Recently, Second City has set its sights on helping innovators and entrepreneurs learn how to use improvisational skills to promote and ensure innovation success.
In collaboration with the Chicagoland Innovation Leadership Network, a Chamber Foundation initiative, Second City Innovation hosted a high energy, interactive training session on January 22nd in the main-stage to demonstrate how performance and improvisation can help companies ideate, co-create and innovate. With a standing room only crowd on hand, participants were treated to a firsthand look at how improvisation works, real life innovation success stories, and tools that can be employed to advance innovation within organizations.
The CILN was created by the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Foundation to foster the development of business and civic leaders committed to innovation and entrepreneurship in the Chicagoland region. The CILN convenes quarterly meetings focusing on leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship and networking. The goal of the CILN is to create a “community” of innovators and entrepreneurs who can learn from one another and develop into a strong voice promoting an innovation ecosystem that fosters entrepreneurship and economic growth throughout Chicagoland.
