This nationally recognized environmentalist founded the Great Lakes Alliance of Chicago and the Indiana Dunes Environmental Learning Center, which just marked its 45,000 visitor for environmental education located at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. She is a Senior Advisor to the Northwest Indiana Quality of Life Council, which she co-founded with Mark Reshkin, Ph.D. Lee has been named one of the top 30 “most influential” environmentalists in the nation. She has also received honorary doctorates from Indiana University and Calumet College of St. Joseph. This author, advocate and policymaker has had a profound influence on raising awareness toward and protection of the Great Lakes and environmental issues in Northwest Indiana, the Midwest and the United States. Her award of a plaque and a $1000 gift is sponsored by ArcelorMittal.
