Rajesh K. Chandy is the James D. Watkins Professor of Marketing at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. His areas of expertise include innovation, technology management, and marketing strategy.
Chandy’s research and publications on innovation have received several national and international awards. Fortune magazine described his findings on innovation as "an unorthodox and bracing set of management principles." He is a current or former editorial board member of IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and Marketing Letters.
Chandy serves as a member of US Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez’s Advisory Committee on Measuring Innovation in the 21st Century Economy. He is also a member of the Academic Council of the American Marketing Association, and the Knowledge Development Coalition of the American Marketing Association. He is co-director of the Institute for Research in Marketing at the Carlson School of Management, and is also an affiliate faculty member at the Medical Industry Leadership Institute at the Carlson School of Management and the Center for Global Innovation at the University of Southern California.
Chandy has taught at the University of Southern California, the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Houston, Bocconi University (Italy), and the Warsaw School of Economics (Poland). He received his PhD from the University of Southern California.
