Exposures Academy -- Businesses Showcasing Their Employees' Passion for Work

Exposures Academy is working to put talented youth that lack a high school diploma on a career path to success. This organization is looking for businesses to provide “behind-the-scenes” tours, called Exposures, at a wide range of businesses in the city.

They are currently running a number of Exposures and are actively recruiting businesses. To participate, businesses simply agree to host a small group of youths for two hours during the work day. During the visit, there is a “show-and-tell” of the business—stories told by the owners and/or employees of their own interests, their passion for the job, and their career paths; and a simple hands-on experience with a real tool or task in the business.

Help to build the innovation talent pool in the Chicagoland region.

Potential dates for visits include

November 3, 5, 10, 12
December 1, 3, 8

This initiative is sponsored by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s New Options Initiative, and run by the IIT Institute of Design graduate students.
